PHILIPSBURG--Prime Minister Sarah Wescot-Williams and Vice Prime Minister Theo Heyliger congratulated RRR party leader Alain Richardson on Sunday evening on his party's election win in the Northern side of the island, St. Martin.
The PM said the people of St. Martin deserved to be congratulated on the manner they had gone about exercising their constitutional right of electing their government. She said elections were exactly that, "a process to democratically elect our representatives and once that is done, it is incumbent on politicians and citizens to work together in the benefit of all people."
In a separate message Heyliger said, "I congratulate the people of Saint Martin and the RRR party leadership, its members and supporters on your overwhelmingly election win. Your success in these elections is an affirmation by the St. Martin people of your vision of a strong and prosperous St. Martin.
"The UP/DP/Illidge coalition Government looks forward in working with the new St. Martin Collectivité Government as we continue to explore avenues and work diligently on issues that impact both sides of the island."
